David S. Yates

David Yates practices complex commercial litigation, representing clients in the healthcare and insurance industries with disputes involving breach of contract, unfair competition, and various business torts. David also represents clients in environmental disputes and provides advise on regulatory compliance related to Health Care fraud and abuse laws. Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, he was a certified emergency medical technician (EMT) and worked for a regional waste management firm.

Additionally, David served as an extern with the University of Southern California’s Health Sciences Legal Team during the COVID-19 pandemic, assisting the hospital system with a range of related regulatory, privacy, and compliance issues. During law school, David served as president of the Latin American Law Students Association, a member of the Dean’s Advisory Committee, and as senior executive editor to the Duke Journal of Comparative & International Law. David was previously with Morgan Lewis as a diversity fellow and summer associate. He is also fluent in Spanish.
