David Waldron
David Waldron is a solicitor advocate and accredited mediator. He counsels clients regarding insolvency and restructuring, international arbitration, and litigation, serving the aviation, oil and gas, alternative energy, and financial services industries in particular. David’s experience in international commercial disputes includes matters involving aviation, industrial projects, infrastructure projects, investment funds, private equity, derivatives, supply agreements, sale agreements, joint ventures, fraud, investigations, and asset tracing. He is actively involved in bankruptcy and restructuring matters, including international insolvency, particularly where there are follow-up actions regarding assets and tracing.

David has managed cross-border disputes in many jurisdictions including Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, Jamaica, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine. He manages insolvency proceedings, litigation, asset tracing, and asset freezing in major offshore jurisdictions. He also handles disputes in the High Court of England & Wales and in appeals. In addition, he is authorized to conduct proceedings at the Dubai International Financial Centre courts.
David litigates and arbitrates many disputes in the oil, gas, and energy industry, including gas supply agreements, pipeline agreements, refinery fires, fraud, seismic provisions, and CO2 allowances.
David’s international arbitration work includes hearings before the International Centre for Dispute Resolution, the International Chamber of Commerce, and the London Court of International Arbitration.

- Represented an oil company in an arbitration claim for damages for claims of breach of contract and tort arising out of a gas supply contract
- Advised an oil company in arbitration defending a claim from a shareholder/joint venture partner regarding duties arising in the company/joint venture
- Defended an IT company in claims arising from a software consulting project
- Represented a power provider in UK High Court proceedings regarding ownership of CO2 emission credits
- Defended a seismic company in multiple arbitrations brought by an agent for contractual damages regarding development of business in the Middle East
