Spenser Jaenichen is part of a team of lawyers that advises clients from a range of industries in diverse areas, including complex commercial disputes and government investigations in both federal and state courts across the country. His experience spans all stages of resolution, including trial and appellate advocacy, preparing fact and expert witnesses for testimony, managing discovery and expert witness strategy, handling dispositive motion practice, and coordinating client's public relations to align with overall litigation strategy. His experience allows him to jump into cases with ease, regardless of its posture.
Spenser also maintains an active pro bono practice, representing plaintiffs in voting rights matters and nonprofit victims in government investigations.
Spenser serves on the Chicago Pro Bono Committee and most recently served as the assignment coordinator for the 2025 Summer Associate Program in Chicago. Spenser is also a member of the firms LGBTQ+ Lawyer Network and the First Generation Lawyer Network.
While in law school, Spenser served as notes editor on the University of Illinois Journal of Law, Technology & Policy, represented veterans in the Veterans Legal Clinic as an Illinois Rule 7/11 Student Attorney, and participated in the Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition. He also taught legal writing and research to incoming LL.M. candidates as an adjunct instructor at the University of Illinois College of Law.
