WASHINGTON, DC, October 21, 2021: Morgan Lewis has been named Litigation Department of the Year in the Insurance specialty category of The National Law Journal’s 2021 Legal Awards. The awards recognize the industry’s leading practices based on the importance and difficulty of the matters handled on behalf of clients as well as the ingenuity and diligence shown in their winning approach. Morgan Lewis partner David Broderdorf was also recognized as a Rising Star.

Morgan Lewis’s insurance practice advises clients on procurement of insurance, engages in dispute resolution over covered losses, and engages in sophisticated restructurings using insurance recoveries, qualified settlement funds, and captive insurance companies. The team delivers comprehensive cross-disciplinary services to provide an end-to-end solution to actual and potential liabilities, including through dedicated structures designed to contain and fully fund such liabilities. Lawyers in the practice help clients accomplish their goals through strategic advice, sophisticated deal-making, and dispute resolution in forums across the United States, Europe, and Asia. Earlier this year, the practice was selected as a finalist for The American Lawyer’s 2021 Insurance Department of the Year and The National Law Journal also named practice leader Paul Zevnik an Insurance Trailblazer. The team was also recognized by Law360 as a 2020 Insurance Practice Group of the Year.

Morgan Lewis and the other honorees were recognized at The National Law Journal’s Legal Awards on October 20 in Washington, DC.
