BOSTON, January 26, 2015 – Morgan Lewis is pleased to announce the appointment of partners Sula R. Fiszman and Joanne D. C. Foley as co-managing partners of the firm’s Boston office effective immediately as the firm – now one of the largest in the world – begins a significant new chapter in 2015.

Ms. Fiszman advises a wide variety of financial institutions, private equity funds, and other companies in connection with complex senior secured finance transactions, subordinated and second lien lending transactions, workouts and bankruptcies. She has managed transactions across a broad range of industries, including media and communications, restaurants, food and beverage, independent oil and gas exploration, oil and gas refining and distribution, retail service station operations, convenience store chains, and manufacturing. Ms. Fiszman joined the firm in 2009 and has served in various leadership roles since that time. She received her J.D. from Harvard Law School and her B.A. from the University of Chicago, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa.

Ms. Foley counsels institutional investment funds, investment advisors, individual investors, real estate operators, REITs and other private equity investor clients in connection with the formation of joint ventures, co-invest and partnership investment arrangements and the acquisition, disposition, merger, financing and development of real estate, real-estate related assets and other asset classes. Her experience also includes representation of closely held companies, sponsors, investors and family offices in various joint venture acquisitions, debt and equity investments, real estate opportunity funds, mixed-use and affordable housing developments, low-income housing and historic rehabilitation tax credit equity investments and financings and syndications. Ms. Foley joined the firm from Bingham McCutchen, where she served as co-managing partner of the Boston office, in November 2014. She earned her J.D. at Georgetown and her B.A. from Boston College.

“We are thrilled to have Sula and Joanne as joint leaders of our Boston office, particularly at such an exciting time for the firm with our enhanced abilities to counsel and serve new and valued clients,” said Firm Chair Jami McKeon. “Morgan Lewis is dedicated to delivering the highest quality results to advance our clients’ legal and business interests – from Boston to Tokyo, London to San Francisco, Silicon Valley to Moscow, and points in between.”

In November, Morgan Lewis welcomed more than 200 partners and nearly 600 other lawyers, legal professionals, and staff from Bingham McCutchen. Morgan Lewis offers clients global access to broad capabilities across a comprehensive spectrum of services and industries addressing virtually every aspect of corporate, financial, and asset management operations.
