GAO Flags Actions to Promote Voluntary Carbon Market Integrity, Global Relay Intelligence & Practice

Partners Pam Wu and Levi McAllister co-authored an article for Global Relay Intelligence & Practice discussing a recent report from the US Government Accountability Office (GAO) examining the state of voluntary carbon markets and the efforts of federal agencies regarding these markets.

As the authors note, the GAO report found that the federal government has had a limited role in voluntary carbon markets and lists several challenges to ensuring the credibility of carbon credits, as well as steps the government can take to promote market integrity and transparency.
