Morgan Lewis partner Michael Philipp will moderate the panel “Plenary Session IV Swap Data and Trade Repositories: The Global Landscape.”
A goal of the G20 is to have all over-the-counter derivatives transactions reported to trade repositories. To be useful, the data in these repositories must be analyzed by regulators from a variety of perspectives—market oversight, surveillance, enforcement, risk analysis, application of clearing rules, and transparency. This panel will discuss the progress on trade repository implementation; access to the data; management and introduction of standards; key aggregation tools, such as legal entity identifiers and unique product identifies; and steps being taken globally to achieve aggregation.
