HOUSTON, March 2, 2015: Morgan Lewis is pleased to announce its recognition by The Houston Business Journal as one of the city’s largest energy law firms. The firm ranked 9th in terms of the size of its local Energy practice among 25 other law firms in the publication’s annual Largest Houston-Area Energy Law Firms list, with 61 dedicated energy lawyers in Houston.
The List recognizes law firms by the number of energy lawyers who spend at least 75% of their billable hours working on energy-related matters. Nearly 85% of the firm’s Houston-based lawyers work in the energy industry. The Morgan Lewis Houston office also made the publication’s Largest Intellectual Property, M&A, and Labor & Employment Law Firm lists, with 5th, 7th and 12th place rankings, respectively.
Last fall, partners David Asmus, Brian Bradshaw and Hugh Tanner were named among The Houston Business Journal’s “Who’s Who in Energy” (2014). The recognition is extended only to those Houston-based lawyers and other professionals driving energy deals and making daily contributions to the booming industry. All three partners have been recognized by the publication in the past. Mr. Asmus, leader of the firm’s Energy Transactions Practice, was awarded the 2014 Who’s Who Legal global “Energy Lawyer of the Year Award,” an honor he received for the fifth time since the awards began in 2005.
