LOS ANGELES and ORANGE COUNTY, June 5, 2015: Barbara Miller and Clifford “Seth” Sethness were named to the Daily Journal’s 2015 list of leading labor and employment lawyers in California published June 3. In granting the recognition, editors at the publication sought to spotlight work with a broad impact on the legal community, the nation and society.
Ms. Miller’s profile highlighted her successful defense at trial of Office Depot Inc. against allegations by former store managers that they were misclassified as exempt employees. Her profile also featured a $100,000 jury verdict that she secured on behalf of Hair Club for Men in a trade secret misappropriation case.
A feature on Mr. Sethness cited his work on behalf of the Pacific Maritime Association—which administers collective bargaining agreements on behalf of West Coast ports—that involved lengthy labor negotiations ending in a settlement that was ratified in May. This is the second time he has been recognized by the Daily Journal, having also been named a leading labor and employment lawyer in 2010.
