Wednesday, October 19, 2022

WASHINGTON, DC, October 19, 2022: Giovanna Cinelli, the leader of Morgan Lewis’s international trade and national security practice, has been elevated from Visiting Fellow to Fellow of George Mason University’s National Security Institute (NSI) in recognition of her extraordinary contributions to NSI’s work.

NSI draws on the experience of its Fellows, as well as that of its advisory board and faculty members, to produce research and policy materials that include analysis and actionable recommendations to senior policymakers in the White House and key departments and agencies, and on Capitol Hill. Fellows are called upon to respond to questions asked by the US Congress and executive branch and to give testimony for Congress or various commissions, such as the US-China Economic and Security Review Commission and Commission on Artificial Intelligence.

As a practitioner for more than 30 years, Giovanna counsels clients in the defense and high-technology sectors on a broad range of issues affecting national security and export controls, including complex export compliance matters, audits, cross-border due diligence, and export enforcement, both classified and unclassified. She had previously served as a Visiting Fellow since 2019.
