Partner Giovanna Cinelli spoke to Law360 for a story about potential challenges to implementing an agreement for the United States to supply nuclear submarine technology to Australia.
Giovanna noted that Australia lacks infrastructure such as dry docks and testing facilities; an industrial base that can design, develop, manufacture, and sustain a nuclear submarine; and people with expertise in the relevant technologies.
"They have highly qualified companies that have been subcontractors on a host of military platforms, but we're talking about building a ground-up capability," Giovanna said.
“That requires not just technology, but it requires people, and it requires resources.”
