California Employers Should Start Working on Violence-Prevention Plans, SHRM

In a recent SHRM article, Morgan Lewis partner Jason Mills discussed draft regulation issued by the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health that will require employers to develop comprehensive workplace-violence prevention programs. Jason noted that it would be a good idea for companies to incorporate this plan into their existing injury and illness prevention programs and that compliance in the hospitality and retail industry would require "a constant state of training all the people coming and going."
