SAN FRANCISCO, May 25, 2018: Morgan Lewis partner Joan M. Haratani has been named among the San Francisco Business Times’s Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business. The outstanding women leaders were selected based on their influence in their industries and communities.

Over the past three decades, Ms. Haratani has honed crisis management and courtroom skills in high-exposure cases. A co-lead counsel on some of the largest mass tort litigations in the United States, she defends Morgan Lewis clients in class actions, product liability litigation, complex licensing agreements, and trade secret indemnity issues across a range of industries, including retail, finance, and pharmaceutical and medical devices.

Ms. Haratani also plays an active role in both the legal and San Francisco communities. She was the first female Asian-American president of the Bar Association of San Francisco and currently holds board positions on several organizations. Her extensive dedication to the community of San Francisco was recognized by the late San Francisco Mayor Edwin Lee when he proclaimed August 2 as “Joan Haratani Day” in the city and county of San Francisco.
