ABU DHABI and DUBAI, July 1, 2019: Morgan Lewis has joined the US-UAE Business Council as a founding member, demonstrating the global law firm’s longstanding commitment to businesses investing in and out of the United Arab Emirates. The US-UAE Business Council aims to deepen bilateral trade and investments between the two countries.

As a council member, Morgan Lewis will further build relationships with organizations in the United States and UAE to assist them in achieving their strategic goals.

“Being part of the US-UAE Business Council builds on the work of our lawyers throughout the Middle East for over 20 years,” said Bill Nash, managing partner of Morgan Lewis’s Abu Dhabi office and co-leader of the firm’s Middle East practice. “The council brings together businesses across sectors such as healthcare, technology, defense, and energy—which have great synergy with our own industry strengths—and we look forward to developing and solidifying business relationships.”

“We are delighted to welcome one of the world’s largest and most experienced law firms in operation in the US and UAE to the council,” said US-UAE Business Council President Danny Sebright. “This step underscores Morgan Lewis’s commitment to the UAE and the US-UAE bilateral relationship.”

Morgan Lewis continued its focus on global depth of capabilities earlier this year by adding a team of investment management, tax, and corporate lawyers in Washington, DC, and Abu Dhabi, where the firm opened its 31st office worldwide. Morgan Lewis also has an office in Dubai.

In the Middle East, Morgan Lewis focuses on investment management (including private investment fund formation and fund investor representation), private equity, structured and Islamic finance, global direct and co-investments, cross-border transactions, arbitration, sanctions, and investigations.
