Morgan Lewis partner Elizabeth Hanigan and associate Jonathan Wilcon authored an ABA's Environment, Energy & Resources article about the growth of energy storage procurements by domestic utilities. In the article, the authors discuss how utilities have acquired a better understanding of how the innovative and improving energy storage technologies can be constructed, operated, deployed, and scaled, as well as new state and federal regulations that have eased rules for energy storage. In the article, they discussed the three main formats of utility-scale storage procurements and their unique advantages and disadvantages.
