One important feature of the Defend Trade Secrets Act is that trade secret owners now have the option to pursue civil remedies under federal law, allowing trade secret owners to consider and elect which remedy may be most efficient and effective and thereby enhancing deterrence and the likelihood of obtaining an appropriate remedy, the authors write.
