Dr. Alexander Meier
Alex Meier works with pharmaceutical and medical device clients on European and German regulatory matters affecting the development, approval, and commercialization of medicines and healthcare products. His practice focuses on regulatory strategy for complex therapies, including biologics, vaccines, and advanced therapy medicinal products, as well as compliance and competition-related issues tied to product lifecycle management. Alex has extensive experience advising on regulatory exclusivity frameworks and global policy considerations, informed by senior in-house leadership roles and private practice work supporting multinational life sciences companies.
Before joining Morgan Lewis, Alex was the vice president of legal regulatory strategy and global regulatory policy at a US pharmaceutical and biotechnology company. He was also previously the head of legal global and pharma drug development at a Swiss pharmaceutical company.
Alex has served as a lecturer in pharmaceutical and regulatory law at several European institutions, including at Philipps-Universität Marburg, the University of Basel, and at the University of Strasbourg.
