Alyssa Wolfington counsels clients across a variety of sectors on identifying and managing privacy, security, and artificial intelligence (AI)-related issues. Alyssa provides practical advice to help clients navigate the full lifecycle of consumer data, from collection and management to designing compliance programs, and responding to privacy and security incidents. She also represents clients before the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and state regulators for privacy and cybersecurity issues.

Alyssa regularly advises on state and federal regulations, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and analogous state consumer privacy laws, the FTC Act, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Washington’s My Health My Data Act (MHMD) and similar state health information privacy laws, Part 2 confidentiality requirements applicable to substance abuse records, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, and the advertising industry’s self-regulatory regimes.

Alyssa represents clients across industries, with a particular focus on health-related privacy issues. She counsels clients on how to address emerging health data issues, particularly as they relate to privacy, security, and digital advertising. Alyssa supports clients with product counseling advice and assists clients to develop and implement policies and practices to govern the full lifecycle of data. She also assists clients in managing relationships with vendors, employees, acquired entities, and data partners.

Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Alyssa worked at another international law firm.
