Bo Tang focuses his practice on intellectual property (IP) law, including patent infringement and invalidity proceedings, trade secret litigation, patent prosecution, IP due diligence, and IP licensing, mainly involving electrical and software technologies. He specializes in a variety of technologies, including artificial intelligence, 5G NR, 4G LTE, semiconductor, battery, clean energy, autonomous driving, blockchain, digital circuits, operating systems, database systems, and electronic devices. Bo has worked extensively with companies and organizations in the United States, China, Europe, and Singapore, including a number of Fortune 500 companies. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English.
Prior to his legal career, Bo was a software engineer at a Fortune 500 company for 10 years. Prior to that, he was a Ph.D. candidate in computer science at Mississippi State University, during which his main research area was artificial intelligence. When Bo was an undergraduate and graduate student, he worked at several semiconductor and electronics companies, performing various tasks including writing electronic design automation (EDA) software, designing electronic circuits, as well as installing and repairing large-scale LED displays at client sites.
