Daniel Funaro
Daniel Funaro focuses his practice on guiding financial institutions and other businesses as they navigate state and federal laws and regulations applicable to the financial services industry. An industry specialist, Danny brings both experience and a fresh perspective in advising banks, credit unions, fintechs, and other financial services providers as they implement new consumer initiatives, undergo examination, and respond to and defend their businesses from regulatory scrutiny and enforcement actions.
Danny assists financial institutions and other financial service providers in compliance with a variety of consumer financial statutes and regulations, including the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), Electronic Funds Transfer Act (EFTA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and prohibitions on Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAPs).
In addition, Danny advises clients in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and other transactions, performing regulatory due diligence reviews, spotting potential risk points, and ensuring the proper regulatory approvals are in place to change control or engage in potentially licensable activity.
