David Wake advises financial institutions in agency investigations, litigation, and supervisory matters before federal and state financial regulators. David previously served as a senior counsel in the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s Enforcement Division and Office of Supervision Policy, and brings that expertise to counsel clients offering innovative financial products and services on the application of banking and consumer protection laws.
David provides guidance to financial institutions and service providers regarding bank regulatory and consumer financial protection matters, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Electronic Funds Transfer Act (EFTA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), and the FTC Act Section 5 prohibition on Unfair and Deceptive Acts and Practices.
In addition, David advises clients in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and other transactions, performing regulatory due diligence reviews to ensure proper regulatory compliance and identify potential risk issues.
