L. Heidi Manschreck
L. Heidi Manschreck is a first-chair trial lawyer representing healthcare and life sciences companies in complex disputes. Heidi’s practice is informed by nearly two decades of government service. She most recently served as chief of the Healthcare Fraud Section in the US Attorney’s Office of the Northern District of Illinois and spent several years as a trial attorney in the Antitrust Division of the US Department of Justice. Heidi is admitted in New York only, and her practice is supervised by IL Bar members.
Heidi’s government service tenure also includes roles at the US Attorney’s Office as criminal healthcare fraud coordinator and deputy chief of its Financial Crimes section. Throughout her career, she has investigated and prosecuted a broad range of healthcare fraud, financial crime, procurement fraud, and other complex matters involving healthcare providers, medical equipment companies, and other organizations.
As a senior leader within the US Attorney’s Office, Heidi supervised and coordinated investigations involving allegations of fraud and misconduct, working closely with federal law enforcement agencies and regulatory authorities. She has extensive experience handling all phases of investigations and litigation, from investigative strategy and charging decisions through trial and resolution.
As a trial attorney in the Antitrust Division of the US Department of Justice, Heidi worked on criminal antitrust investigations and prosecutions, including first-chairing a rare corporate bid-rigging trial. Her combined healthcare fraud, financial crimes, and antitrust background provides her with a broad perspective on the legal, regulatory, and operational challenges organizations face in highly scrutinized industries.
