Kristen Canales focuses her practice on trademark and copyright counseling, licensing, enforcement, and litigation. Kristen assists clients with global intellectual property (IP) portfolio management, including clearance, registration, maintenance, and enforcement, as well as IP transactions. Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, she assisted with advertising litigation and counseling at a Washington, DC–based law firm. Kristen also brings experience assisting clients with IP issues in the media and entertainment space.
Kristen is a member of the Hispanic National Bar Association and Morgan Lewis’s Hispanic/Latino Lawyer Network. She also serves as an alumni interviewer for her undergraduate alma mater Georgetown University.
Before joining Morgan Lewis, Kristen was an associate in the Advertising group at a Washington, DC–based law firm where she assisted with counseling clients in the retail space on advertising regulatory issues and sweepstakes and defending clients in false advertising litigation.
While attending law school at American University Washington College of Law, Kristen was a staff member of the American University Law Review, a Student Attorney of the Glushko-Samuelson Intellectual Property Law Clinic, and a member of the IP Brief.
