Mason Whisnant focuses his practice on intellectual property (IP) disputes involving utility and design patents, trademarks, unfair competition, false advertising, and trade secrets. Mason’s engineering background allows him to serve clients in a variety of technology areas. Mason serves clients in US district courts and contributes to post-grant proceedings before the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
Before joining Morgan Lewis, Mason was a litigator at a boutique IP law firm. Mason obtained his law degree from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he was a senior managing editor of the University of Florida Journal of Law & Public Policy and a legal writing teaching assistant.
Prior to attending law school, Mason received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Florida, during which he gained manufacturing engineering experience interning with a major automotive manufacturer.
