Matthew N. Riehle
Matthew N. Riehle advises private equity sponsors, public and private corporate borrowers, financial institutions, strategic and corporate investors, family offices, and other borrowers and lenders on a broad range of domestic and cross-border financing transactions. Serving as a trusted advisor to private equity sponsors, Matt specializes in representing clients in acquisitions and leveraged financings. With extensive experience structuring and negotiating private credit and syndicated facilities, buyout and recapitalization financings, Holdco PIK facilities, general partner support lines and subscription line facilities, venture debt financings, and asset-based lending transactions, Matt delivers legal solutions tailored to clients’ strategic objectives.
Known for a collaborative and client-centered approach, Matt works closely with sponsor investment teams, capital markets directors, CFOs and their finance teams, and general counsels and their in-house legal teams to develop innovative financing strategies that support investment goals and long-term growth.
Matt has held various firmwide and local office positions within the firm. He previously represented associates located in the Miami, Pittsburgh, and Wilmington offices on the Global Committee of Associates; served as the inaugural firmwide associate representative of the Hispanic and Latino Lawyer Network; and is regularly involved in the firm’s recruiting efforts and summer associate program. While in law school, Matt interned for Judge Kevin J. Carey of the US Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware and at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. Matt also served as editor-in-chief of the Temple International and Comparative Law Journal.
