Patrick K. A. Elkins

Patrick served as vice-chair of the Pro Bono Committee for the firm’s Houston office. His pro bono work includes representing clients in matters involving veterans benefits, immigration, family law, and child advocacy concerns.

• Defending numerous corporations in asbestos and other toxic tort cases nationally, including negotiating resolution of claims, attending court hearings, conducting motions practice, attending depositions of fact and expert witnesses, preparing discovery responses, and leading fact investigations.
• Member of the trial team for an oil field services company in the Deepwater Horizon matter.
• Serving as insurance recovery counsel in international arbitration for an oil field services company in connection with claims arising from the Deepwater Horizon litigation.
• Representing an oil field company in connection with all aspects of groundwater contamination site, including representation in litigation, development of remediation strategies, negotiations with previous site owner, and supervision of environmental consulting firm on continued monitoring of site.
• Member of trial team for a title insurance company in lawsuit against a fidelity bond issuer regarding claims of fraud arising out of title insurance policies issued by the agent of the client.
• Representing numerous corporations in all aspects of insurance recovery arising from product liability claims, including forensic search related to historic insurance policies investigation of corporate histories, and briefing on motions for summary judgment.
• Defending numerous corporations in asbestos and other toxic tort cases nationally, including negotiating resolution of claims, , attending court hearings, conducting motions practice, attending depositions of fact and expert witnesses, preparing discovery responses, and leading fact investigations.
