Priya Varnavides focuses her practice on representing health care plans and insurers in complex litigation. With more than six years of experience in managed care litigation, she has handled a broad range of disputes involving breach of contract, provider reimbursement issues, business torts, and insurance bad faith claims. In total, Priya brings more than a decade of experience litigating across all phases of civil litigation—including internal investigations, discovery, dispositive motion practice, trial, arbitration, and appellate matters.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Priya regularly secured favorable settlements for a major health care plan in disputes with a leading health care company involving multiple national hospital systems and thousands of patient claims. She frequently obtained early dismissals at the pleading stage and won summary judgment in provider disputes based on statute of limitations defenses.
Before shifting her focus to representing payors, Priya specialized in defending healthcare providers—including physicians, hospitals, and skilled nursing facilities—in professional negligence actions.
