Tonecia Brothers-Sutton represents employers in all aspects of employment litigation, including wrongful termination, retaliatory discharge, and discrimination and harassment based on race, color, sex, age, religion, national origin, and disability. Tonecia handles all stages of litigation from initial fact investigation through trial, including drafting pleadings, managing discovery, conducting and defending depositions, drafting dispositive motions, arguing pretrial motions, delivering opening statements and examining witnesses at trial. Tonecia also provides advice and counseling on employment matters including terminations, workplace investigations, and compliance with state and federal employment laws.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Tonecia practiced at a national labor and employment firm, where she represented employers in various employment-related matters and served on the firm’s trial and appeals practice group. Before beginning her legal career, Tonecia was a journalist, advocating for her local community and reporting on legislative issues.
