Lindsay M. Goodman has experience with many aspects of the firm’s comprehensive employee benefits practice. She handles a wide range of projects, including multiemployer plan issues, health and welfare plan issues, qualified and nonqualified retirement plan issues, HIPAA and COBRA matters, employee benefits due diligence with respect to mergers and acquisitions, and US Department of Labor and Internal Revenue Service audits.
Lindsay frequently advises clients on compliance issues relating to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, ERISA, and the Internal Revenue Code, and handles plan document drafting and updates consistent with such rules and regulations. She also advises on best practices and methods of correcting plan document and plan administration failures. In addition, Lindsay serves as counsel to several large multiemployer pension and health and welfare plans and advises boards of trustees on issues related to participation in multiemployer pension and health and welfare plans.
She is responsible for writing the Legislative Reporter column for the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plan’s Monthly Magazine. She also regularly contributes to the firm’s ML BeneBits blog which highlights hot topics in the employee benefits area.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Lindsay was an employee benefits associate at two large international law firms as well as a tax and estate planning associate at a small boutique tax and corporate law firm in Chicago.
