2012 NAHB International Builders’ Show

Corrie Fischel Conway, Anne Marie Estevez, and David Fuller will present "Independent Contractors and Employees: Recent Efforts by the Department of Labor, the Internal Revenue Service and State Agencies to Fight Misclassification" at the 2012 NAHB International Builders' Show.

The Department of Labor, Internal Revenue Service and various state agencies have stepped up efforts to fight employee misclassification in a number of industries, including the home building industry. Specifically, their concern is whether companies are classifying their workers as independent contractors rather than as full-time employees. Learn more about what these agencies are doing to investigate employee misclassification and what steps your company should take to prevent and/or reduce future exposures on employee misclassification.
