2017 IP Academy Series: Extracting Invention

Friday, February 10, 2017
04:30 PM - 06:00 PM Eastern Standard Time

Effective extraction of patentable inventions from researchers saves cost and time in building a company’s patent portfolio. Researchers often do not consider legal factors in obtaining patent rights or selling products when conducting experiments. Therefore, a company’s IP department and legal personnel can serve a key role in assisting researchers to identify patentable inventions.

In this session, we will discuss how to efficiently and effectively extract patentable inventions from researchers or their experimental data.

Topics will include:

  • How to determine inventorship in the United States
  • How to talk to inventors to extract patentable inventions
  • Designing cost-effective experiments
