Morgan Lewis’s partner John McGuire recently presented "Trends in Fund Structures and Strategies" at the 31st annual US Bancorp Fund Services (USBFS) Client Conference in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Speakers included representatives from DST Systems, Edward Jones, Euroclear, the Investment Company Institute, Morningstar, PwC, and US Bank.
Morgan Lewis was a sponsor of the two-and-a-half-day event, which covered fund structure, custody, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and compliance issues. The forum drew more than 370 attendees, primarily from asset managers who advise funds administered by USBFS. John discussed the key operational and legal differences between mutual funds, closed-end funds, interval funds, and exchange-traded funds.
