Morgan Lewis tax associate Shira Helstrom will present at DC Bar’s Exempt Organization webcast on “Endowments & Restricted Funds: How UPMIFA and the DC Nonprofit Act Impact the Use of Charitable Assets.”
The panel will discuss the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on nonprofits and their finances. The program will cover the legal restrictions applicable to endowments, quasi-endowments, and other types of restricted funds. The presentation focuses on the ways tax-exempt nonprofit organizations may use and access their endowment funds and other restricted funds under DC law, as well as the options for modifying restrictions.
