Practically overnight, telehealth has become the primary modality by which patients receive healthcare. Although telehealth is intended to be the same health service, just furnished in a virtual care setting, there are a number of additional regulatory and reimbursement challenges that arise. As telehealth becomes more prominent, we will begin to see more instances of enforcement against telehealth providers for fraud, waste, abuse, and other regulatory noncompliance.
