As a very versatile fuel, natural gas will continue to be a key component of the world’s energy transition and net zero goals. Not only does natural gas improve air quality when replacing coal and diesel, it also provides critical support for renewable energy resources like wind, solar, and hydroelectricity by helping to match supply and demand. Existing natural gas infrastructure can also be a big part in developing climate change solutions when used to accommodate emerging energy technology, such as hydrogen.

This fireside chat will include Dena Wiggins, President and CEO of the Natural Gas Supply Association, a trade group that represents major integrated and independent natural gas producers in the United States, and David Drury, Managing Consultant, Gas Strategies, a professional services firm providing consultancy, information services and training in the global gas and LNG sectors, to discuss the role of natural gas as a key component of the world's energy transition and net zero goals.

Topics will include:

  • A discussion of renewable natural gas, liquified natural gas, and combustible natural gas
  • Hydrogen made from gas
  • Carbon capture, utilization, and sequestration
