Sparking AI Innovation While Guarding Our National Security, Product Safety and Fundamental Rights

Wednesday, March 06, 2024
03:30 PM - 06:00 PM Pacific Standard Time

Artificial intelligence (AI) has captured the imaginations of people, societies, and governments around the world. It has sparked a wave of excitement while simultaneously raising concerns for governments and regulators that this technology (including generative AI) could adversely impact national security, product safety, and people’s fundamental rights. Join Morgan Lewis and the Japan Society of Northern California and our panel of authorities to discuss approaches to AI regulation in the United States, Japan, and European Union.

We will be joined by leaders in the field from government, industry, and law from different corners of the world to discuss how different governments (US, Japan, and EU) are addressing AI and what regulatory tools they are developing. They will share their thoughts on AI regulation and discuss how different legislative and regulatory bodies are approaching the technology and what this means for businesses and individuals around the world. Morgan Lewis partner Nancy Yamaguchi, who serves on the board of directors of the Japan Society of Northern California, will provide opening remarks.
