Washington, DC IP Academy Series — IP Value: From Boardroom to Courtroom

Friday, May 8, 2015
04:30 PM - 05:30 PM Eastern Daylight Time

A district court judge recently said, “It is the norm for patent owners to bludgeon first and value second.” Most plaintiffs and defendants—often in litigation where the close of discovery is only a few weeks away—have no sense of whether a patent is worth one dollar or billions.

Please join us as we review the types of harm and theories of intellectual property damages. We’ll focus on the art of valuing and monetizing a patent portfolio and review IP rights, litigation, and valuation statistics that impact the overall value of IP assets.

Topics will include:

  • IP monetization landscape
  • Nuts and bolts of IP damages in the United States
  • Admissibility of expert witness testimony in US IP litigation cases

Light refreshments will be served.
Casual attire.
