With more than a decade of experience handling complex commercial litigation in the consumer financial services sector, Arjun P. Rao represents some of the finance industry’s highest-profile clients. Arjun is well versed in handling consumer class actions and complex commercial disputes arising from lending and retail banking operations, including for alleged violations of federal and state law nationwide. Arjun counsels clients in the financial services industry on regulatory matters and government investigations. He defends clients in federal and state courts throughout the United States on a broad range of actions stemming from various financial services products, including automobile lending.

Arjun has successfully defended clients in cases involving the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Debit Collection Practices Act, and Truth in Lending Act; numerous provisions of state law, including California’s Unfair Competition Law and Consumers Legal Remedies Act; and the Uniform Commercial Code.

Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Arjun was a partner and associate at another global law firm and prior to that, an associate at a boutique law firm. A recognized thought leader, Arjun is a frequent panelist on topics involving class actions, the consumer financial services industry, and arbitration, and has been recognized by legal publications for his litigation services.
