Morgan Lewis personnel attended the Read Ahead Gala at Guastavino’s in New York City, during which attendees celebrated our firm as the Corporate Sponsor. The Read Ahead Gala stands as a beacon of hope for promoting literacy among children from underserved New York City communities. By sponsoring this event, Morgan Lewis aligned itself with the mission of Read Ahead, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering young minds through mentorship and literacy programs, and provided much-needed funds to support more than 625 NYC public elementary school students.

Partnerships between corporations and nonprofits such as Read Ahead demonstrate the profound impact that collaboration can have on shaping a brighter future for generations to come. During the 2024–2025 school year, 33 Morgan Lewis personnel volunteered as Read Ahead Mentors, supporting their students’ literacy journey across eight months of weekly programming.

On 9/11 Day, Morgan Lewis proudly joined volunteers nationwide to honor the spirit of unity and service that arose in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks. Twelve Morgan Lewis offices joined this effort, with 178 participants giving their time to make it the firm’s largest 9/11 Day to date. Together with volunteers around the world, we assembled more than nine million nutritious meals for families in need.

The season of giving shone brightly as Morgan Lewis’s offices around the world celebrated by giving back to their communities and fostering connections.

The Brussels office continued its impactful clothing drive with the Red Cross; the New York office championed entrepreneurship with its Start Small Think Big boutique; and the Miami office celebrated 20 years with the Adopt-a-Family program, adopting two families and hosting a festive gift-wrapping party. Boston collected warm winter clothing for those experiencing housing insecurity; London participated in an annual winter coat drive for WrapUp London, which has already led to the distribution of over 11,000 coats to those facing homelessness; and our Chicago office contributed to the Chicago Help Initiative, an organization dedicated to assisting individuals facing housing and job insecurity.

Each year Morgan Lewis recognizes World Cleanup Day as a unifying civic movement that calls us to act for the environment and advance a world with less waste. Since 2018, this commemoration has united over 90 million volunteers in more than 200 countries to raise awareness about the waste crisis and collaborate for a cleaner planet. We are proud of the progress we have made over the last year, including public park beautification in Boston and Philadelphia, beach cleanup in California, and refreshing urban public spaces in Munich, among other volunteerism efforts, and our commitments going forward.

In the 2025 Earth Day Campaign, 26 Morgan Lewis offices across all our regions hosted a total of 30 engagement initiatives that included mangrove and tree planting, community garden beautification projects, beach and community cleanups, educational lunch-and-learns, and donation drives.

We partner with organizations such as the Delaware Nature Society for butterfly conservation; the Sanitation Foundation to collect waste; Pacific Beach Coalition to refresh California beaches; and Dignity Kitchen.  

Beyond these efforts, we hosted an Earth Day Perspectives Panel on our firm’s latest environmental initiatives, from energy-efficient operations to sustainable real estate strategies and employee-driven engagement efforts.

Morgan Lewis’s Sustainability Movement Challenge wrapped with 519 active participants across the firm and 43,144 miles and 816 sustainability activities logged worldwide!

Morgan Lewis’s Recycling Taskforce works to refine the firm’s waste management protocols, reduce the use of plastics in favor of reusable and environmentally friendly products, and educate our community on the importance of recycling to further advance the firm’s commitment to sustainability.

Recent efforts include implementing firmwide signage for trash receptacles to quickly identify bins and properly dispose of waste, compostable, or recyclable materials; providing resources to recycle plastics appropriately, dispose of electronics safely, and save energy to reduce emissions; and prioritizing eco-friendly office supplies, which has increased our green spending.
