WASHINGTON, DC, August 2, 2023: The Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA) will honor Morgan Lewis partner Grace E. Speights with the 2023 Charlotte E. Ray Award. Named after the first African American female lawyer in the United States, the award recognizes outstanding achievements by a woman lawyer and contributions made to the advancement of women of color in the legal profession.
Grace serves as head of Morgan Lewis’s global labor and employment practice, which counts more than 300 lawyers across the firm. Grace also co-leads the Mobilizing for Equality Task Force, which is committed to promoting racial equality and justice.
Grace handles high-profile, high-stakes workplace matters and is often called on by clients for crisis management assistance. Her practice has garnered national prominence for her pioneering role in leading high-profile internal investigations and advising organizations on workplace culture as they navigate new workplace paradigms in light of national attention on racial equality and social justice.
The MCCA has previously recognized Grace, naming her among its 2019 Rainmakers. Grace will be recognized at the MCCA’s Diversity Gala in October.
