Lenders Clear Out Warehouses as Rate Risk Clouds Gather, GlobalCapital

Partner Merryn Craske spoke with GlobalCapital about growing activity in trade receivables securitizations as lenders navigate changing funding conditions and potential EU securitization reforms.

“Trade receivables securitizations are certainly picking up, and we’re seeing an increase in those transactions compared with last year,” Merryn said. She noted that concerns stemming from alleged fraud could be mitigated if the industry develops a common approach to due diligence and monitoring. Merryn also pointed to uncertainty over whether EU reforms will require private transactions to report to a central data repository, adding that market participants are seeking greater certainty and reduced reporting requirements. “Constant change is destabilising,” she said.
