February 16, 2017

FRANKFURT, February 16, 2017: Morgan Lewis has welcomed Dr. Ulrich Korth as a corporate and business transactions partner in Frankfurt, enhancing the firm’s services in mergers and acquisitions and private equity. Before joining Morgan Lewis, he was a corporate lawyer with another global law firm.

Dr. Korth has advised major multinational corporations in public and private mergers and acquisitions, buy-side leveraged buyouts, and sell-side exits and disposals. Spanning a wide range of sectors and located around the globe, the clients he has represented include some of the world’s largest banks, private equity and venture capital firms, financial services groups, chemical companies, electrical appliance manufacturers, and healthcare companies.

“Ulrich’s deep familiarity in cross-border transactions involving a diverse array of clients further enhances our services in Germany and beyond,” said Firm Chair Jami McKeon. “His addition to the Frankfurt team contributes to Morgan Lewis’s standing as a full-service firm in Europe’s largest, most competitive economy, and further elevates our presence globally.”

A former academic assistant at the University of Heidelberg and a graduate of the London School of Economics, Dr. Korth is fluent in German and English, and has a very good knowledge of French. As a member of his former firm’s global financial investors group, he worked on a multidisciplinary team to assist clients in complex multijurisdictional financial investor transactions involving billions of dollars.

“Ulrich’s solid transactional experience and broad sector familiarity will be an invaluable resource to our corporate clients,” said Charles Engros, head of Morgan Lewis’s corporate and business transactions practice. “We are very excited to have him on board as we continue to strengthen our capabilities in this highly specialized area of practice.”

The team of lawyers in Morgan Lewis’s Frankfurt office focuses on projects and transactions—particularly mergers and acquisitions and public and private equity transactions—and financial services advice, including securities, capital markets, and derivatives. The office handles complex cross-border assignments involving corporate finance, investment, transactional finance, energy, financial restructuring, global employment and immigration, labor-management relations, litigation, tax, and outsourcing.
