PHILADELPHIA, April 30, 2018: For the fourth consecutive year, Morgan Lewis Chair Jami McKeon will host an emerging female leader as part of the Fortune - US Department of State Global Women’s Mentoring Partnership.

Ms. McKeon will welcome Carol Kariuki, an advocate of the High Court of Kenya, to the firm for two weeks as part of a public-private partnership between the US Department of State and Fortune’s Most Powerful Women that seeks to equip participants with critical business and leadership skills, expand their networks, and inspire them to “pay it forward” in their communities. This year, the international exchange program paired 16 senior women executives in the United States with emerging leaders from 13 countries to advance the status of women in business.

During the program, Ms. Kariuki, who specializes in assisting law firms and legal departments to streamline their business operations, will shadow Ms. McKeon and meet with other key firm leaders in three of Morgan Lewis’s East Coast offices to engage in discussions on business development, financial planning in law firm management, and effective networking.

“Empowering the next generation of women leaders is both a passion of mine and a driving force behind many of our firm’s diversity and inclusion initiatives,” Ms. McKeon said. “Being able to learn from Ms. Kariuki’s experience with law firm business in Africa and to share our experience as a global firm will enrich both of our perspectives.”
