Former Morgan Lewis Partner Colm Connolly Sworn in as US Judge in Delaware

Thursday, August 9, 2018

WILMINGTON, August 9, 2018: Former Morgan Lewis partner Colm Connolly yesterday was sworn in as a judge for the US District Court for the District of Delaware.

Until his unanimous confirmation to the federal bench by the US Senate, Mr. Connolly was managing partner of Morgan Lewis’s Wilmington office, which he founded upon joining the firm in 2009. Mr. Connolly’s leadership skills and deep familiarity with Delaware’s legal landscape were key in Morgan Lewis establishing a solid presence in Wilmington, a critical center of corporate activity and home to the prestigious Chancery Court.

“This is a great honor for Colm, and a much deserved next step in his remarkable career,” said Firm Chair Jami McKeon. “His outstanding reputation in private practice and his stellar record as a dedicated public servant have fully prepared him to take on this important new role. We are very proud of him and know he will serve with distinction.”

Also during his tenure at Morgan Lewis, Mr. Connolly chaired the Delaware US District Court’s Lawyer Advisory Committee. He had been US Attorney for the District of Delaware for seven years, managing the federal government’s criminal and civil caseload within the district, before joining the firm.
