Morgan Lewis partner Omar Shah was interviewed by Global Competition Review for an article about the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) accusing a guitar manufacturer of resale price maintenance by restricting online discounts for its guitars. In the article, Omar noted that these cases tend to have a ripple effect. “The European Commission has been less active until recently in vertical cases and it is an area where national authorities have expanded to fill in the enforcement vacuum,” he said. “Consumers shop around online and this is low hanging fruit for the CMA.”
