NEW YORK, June 25, 2020: For the sixth consecutive year, the Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF) has recognized Morgan Lewis with Gold Standard Certification for the firm’s commitment to female leadership.

“Morgan Lewis has long shared the guiding principles of WILEF—that retaining and advancing women in law makes the entire legal community stronger,” said Firm Chair Jami McKeon. “While this is a wonderful recognition, we know there is still work to be done to increase equity and diversity in the legal profession and Morgan Lewis is committed to continuing to be a force for long lasting and impactful change.”

WILEF recognizes with Gold Standard status major law firms that meet objective requirements, including having women comprise at least 20% of the equity partnership or having 33% of women lawyers becoming equity partners during the last 12 months. In addition to meeting those standards, Morgan Lewis exceeded requirements in each of the following criteria:

  • 20% of the firm’s compensation committee or its equivalent are women
  • 15% of the top half of the firm’s equity partners in terms of compensation are women
  • 10% of women equity partners are women of color, or 4% of women equity partners are LGBT
