LOS ANGELES, CA, June 26, 2020: Morgan Lewis is honored to be recognized, along with PayPal, as a Champion of Justice by OneJustice, a critically important pro bono organization that brings equal access to justice to Californians in need. This honor recognizes those who have worked tirelessly to promote access to justice throughout the state and who embody a commitment to OneJustice’s mission of transforming California’s legal aid system.
“OneJustice is a close pro bono partner of ours in California, who we have partnered with for years on its rural-access initiatives,” said Firm Chair Jami McKeon. “We are proud to support its mission of bringing life-changing legal help to those in need by transforming the legal aid system.”
Many Morgan Lewis lawyers have volunteered with OneJustice-led projects, including the Justice Bus, the Bay Area Rural Justice Collaborative, and most recently the Justice Plane, all bringing vitally important legal services to isolated and underserved parts of California. The Justice Plane initiative allowed Morgan Lewis to provide an array of legal services—including with Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) renewals, naturalization papers, and general questions at an immigration clinic—to remote areas in California. The firm also works regularly with IMPACT LA, a project to support survivors of domestic violence by providing wrap-around legal services in a clinic setting.
