Morgan Lewis Joins HRC Foundation’s Business Coalition for Equality Act

June 22, 2020

NEW YORK, June 22, 2020: Morgan Lewis has joined the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation’s Business Coalition for the Equality Act. The coalition is a group of US employers that support the Equality Act—federal legislation that would provide the same basic protections for LGBTQ+ people as are provided to other protected groups under federal law.

Since 2009, HRC has recognized Morgan Lewis as one of the Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality as part of its Corporate Equality Index. The global law firm most recently earned a 100% score for 2020. The annual report evaluates LGBTQ-related policies and practices, including nondiscrimination workplace policies, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive healthcare benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBTQ community.

A commitment to diversity and inclusion (D&I) is a core value at Morgan Lewis. In addition to active leadership participation in D&I efforts, women lawyers, attorneys of color, and LGBTQ+ lawyers serve on the Advisory Board, the Compensation Committee, are office managing and/or hiring partners, and hold various firm-wide and practice group leadership positions.
