DUBAI, LOS ANGELES, January 25, 2021: Morgan Lewis investment partner Ayman Khaleq, co-leader of the firm’s Middle East practice, was appointed as council liaison officer for the International Bar Association (IBA).
Ayman was elected to the Legal Practice Division, which is the IBA body that aims to promote an interchange of information and views among its members as to laws, practices, and professional responsibilities relating to the practice of law throughout the world, among other matters relating to facilitating communications and initiatives involving lawyers globally.
In his new capacity, Ayman will also act as the liaison to the IBA’s Arab Regional Forum. Ayman will provide policy guidance to IBA committee officers, as well as assist with and encourage committee activities such as lawyer wellness, diversity, conference planning, digital communications, and more general areas of support.
Ayman advises global and regional institutional clients and asset managers on cross-border investment management, capital markets, and structured finance transactions – particularly those with sharia-compliant (Islamic) structures.
