HOUSTON, April 9, 2021: Morgan Lewis partner William Peterson has been named 2021 Texas Litigation Practitioner of the Year by Managing Intellectual Property as part of its annual Americas Awards. The awards honor significant achievements of intellectual property firms and individuals in North and South America over the past year.
The award results are determined through Managing Intellectual Property’s research for the publication’s annual edition of IP Stars. Research analysts compile information from thousands of firms, IP practitioners, and their clients through a series of surveys, interviews, and emails. They also look at publicly available information such as court records.
William provides appellate representation through all stages of the state and federal litigation process. He has argued before numerous state and federal courts of appeals, including the US Supreme Court. As a member of the firm’s IP practice, William regularly argues patent appeals before the US Court of the Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and was previously recognized as Litigator of the Week by The AmLaw Litigation Daily for one of his Federal Circuit appellate victories and as Lawyer On the Rise by Texas Lawyer.
